Video calls
Calls from any chat on your own media server: rooms, screen sharing, and guest access by link.
Branzy video calls run on a media server that sits next to your Branzy. Audio and video don’t pass through third-party clouds; Branzy only issues the token that lets a person into a room.
Starting a call
Type /call in any chat — a room opens and an invitation card lands in the feed. Join from the web or the mobile app. Participants without video join audio-only and stay in the list.
Check before you join
Before entering the room, pick the microphone and camera and look at yourself — so the first minutes aren’t spent on “can you hear me”.
Screen sharing
A shared screen takes the main tile; everyone else moves to a strip beside it.
The call card in chat
The card updates itself: who joined, how long the call has been running, when it ended. The data comes from the media server, not from someone pressing a button, so the chat history shows what really happened.
Room access
A room has two modes:
- Private — chat or meeting participants can join.
- Public — anyone with the link can join without an account, for example a customer.
A call on a meeting
Attach a room to a calendar meeting and the join button sits on the event. If your company runs on Zoom, use the /zoom command.
