Chats, channels, and groups
The kinds of chats in Branzy: direct, project channels, groups, task and meeting chats — and how they connect.
In Branzy all conversations live in one place. They differ only by what they are attached to.
Kinds of chats
- Direct chats — one-on-one conversation.
- Project channels — the team’s conversation inside a project. A good place for the working stream and for connecting external messengers.
- Groups — topic chats not tied to a project; either conversational (everyone writes) or feed/channel style where a limited set of people publish.
- Task chat — every task has its own chat, so the discussion stays next to the task instead of mixing with the rest.
- Meeting chat — the same for a calendar meeting.
In every chat
- mentions (
@name), quotes, and replies; - emoji reactions and stickers;
- photos, video, audio, voice messages, and documents;
- link previews;
- online status and unread counters that add up per project;
- slash commands that turn a message into a task, meeting, or call.
Read cursor
Branzy remembers the last message you read and opens the chat there. Reading on the phone counts as read on the web too.
Leaving a chat
You can leave a group or a task chat — you stop receiving notifications for it, and the history stays for the others.
