Jira Cloud

Connect Jira Cloud to a project and create Jira issues straight from chat with /jira.

The integration turns a message into a Jira issue without leaving the chat. It is connected at the Branzy project level: one person sets it up, and everyone in the project can use it.

What you need

  • An Atlassian account with access to your Jira Cloud site.
  • The project-settings permission in Branzy — only people who have it can connect the service and choose the Jira project.

How to connect

  1. Open the project in Branzy and go to project settings → Add-ons.
  2. Choose Jira Cloud and click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Atlassian and approve access. Branzy asks to read and create issues, read users, and keep offline access so the connection doesn’t drop.
  4. If you have several Jira sites, pick the one you need.

Choosing the Jira project and issue type

After connecting, set where issues should go:

  • Jira project — its key, for example BRZ.
  • Issue type — Task by default; any type available in that Jira project (Bug, Story, and so on).

These are remembered for the Branzy project and can be changed in the same place later.

How to use

  1. In the project chat type /jira — it appears in the slash command menu once connected.
  2. Fill in the title and description.
  3. Send. A card with a link like your-site.atlassian.net/browse/BRZ-123 appears in the chat.

Limitations

  • The command creates issues; editing and status sync between Jira and Branzy are not performed.
  • If access is revoked in Atlassian, the command disappears from the menu until you reconnect.
