Connect Branzy to Codex
Codex reads MCP servers from its config file, shared by the command line and the IDE extension. Update Codex to the latest version before you start.
How to connect
-
Open a terminal and add the Branzy server with one command:
codex mcp add branzy --url https://branzy.app/mcp
-
Or add it by hand to the ~/.codex/config.toml file (open it in any text editor, not in the terminal):
[mcp_servers.branzy] url = "https://branzy.app/mcp"
-
Run this command in the terminal to sign in to Branzy. A browser window opens: approve access.
codex mcp login branzy
-
Start Codex in the terminal and type /mcp to check that branzy is in the list of connected servers.
How to use
Just write to your assistant in plain words. On first use it asks you to approve access to Branzy; it sees only what you see yourself. For example:
- Find the task for this feature in Branzy and show its description
- When the work is done, move the task to Done and leave a comment
- What did we agree with the customer in the last meeting?
- Show my overdue tasks across all projects
- Create a task for Anna: prepare the report by Friday
